Michael Alexander Designs has been building and designing period additions to older homes since 1988. Though restoration and remodeling has been the mainstay of our work for almost 20 years, new homes and commercial build-outs have been part of our portfolio as well.

Michael has practiced sustainable forestry on his farm for over 25 years and sustainably harvests aspen, oak, cherry, elm and other hardwoods for inclusion in the many projects undertaken. This material is dried using a solar kiln and milled in a woodworking shop on the farm. This husbandry and this philosophy: ONE SOURCE—THROUGH OUR HANDS TO YOUR SPACE has benefits for all involved.

This philosophy is also applied to Liveedge.net is a furniture business that was started in 2005 by Michael to use low value, reclaimed and downed trees for live edge furniture and sculpture which has organic appeal with minimalist modern style.
